My cousin came to the States to spend the New Year with us, and he wanted to see the new Prada store in Beverly Hills, so I took him there while thinking, what's so special about an over-priced name brand store? As it turned out, there's plenty to see.

Unlike other stores, the Prada name is nowhere to be seen, but people are inevitably drawn to the store like bugs to the eerie purple glow of a bug zapper. What are they looking at anyway?

This is what people are looking at. Not your typical display window, is it?
Inside the store is no different. Walls are not quite walls, but hard, green plastic slabs molded around big air bubbles, placed in front of flourescent lights.

Large LCD screens are hung on clothes racks like it's a normal thing to do. (This one is showing the current weather on the west coast)

A view from the 3rd floor.
One thing to remember when visiting this store is don't take any pictures. That's right, no pictures of the store allowed! No one told me about the policy when I walked in with my 30D (it's not a small camera), and no one stopped me when I snapped away for a good 20 minutes -- until a bossy security/manager type made it clear (in no uncertain terms) that I should stop.
I thought the demand was ridiculous, because you can see all the way down the store from the sidewalk, and I could've easily taken pictures of the inside if I had my telephoto lens, not to mention pictures I could've taken with a phone cam while pretending to be on the phone, but I put my camera away and walked down to the 1st floor and -- you guessed it -- took another picture in protest.
